Migration guide
Move from a local Mac to a cloud Mac,
in three steps
Work through data, toolchains, then CI integration. Each step has clear checks for completion; don’t move on until the previous step is done.
Transfer projects and certificates
Transfer your project repository, signing certificates, and provisioning profiles to the cloud Mac.
- Before you start
- Export signing certificates and provisioning profiles from your local Mac, and make sure the repository is accessible from your chosen location.
- Done when
- You can open the project on the cloud Mac and find the corresponding certificates in Keychain.
Install the same Xcode version
Install Xcode and dependencies on the cloud Mac, matching the versions on your local machine.
- Before you start
- Note the versions of Xcode, Command Line Tools, and your dependency manager on your local Mac.
- Done when
- The project completes a clean build on the cloud Mac.
Set it up as a build machine
Register the cloud Mac as a CI build machine.
- Before you start
- Make sure your CI service can reach the instance at this location and that you have build machine credentials ready.
- Done when
- Push a commit and confirm the build runs on the cloud Mac.
For the files to transfer, tools to install, and checks for each step, see the detailed migration guide.
Uptime commitment
99.9% uptime,
about 43 minutes of downtime per month
Based on a 30-day month, 99.9% uptime allows about 43 minutes of downtime. Any downtime beyond that allowance is credited as service time on a prorated basis. Submit a support ticket in the console with your instance ID and the affected time period to request credit.

FAQ
4 things to know before you order
For other questions, visit the Help Center or submit a support ticket in the console.
Is latency high when using a Mac in another region?
Latency depends on your distance from the location and your internet connection. Choose based on where your team is: Singapore for Southeast Asia, Tokyo for Japan and East Asia, Seoul for South Korea and Northeast Asia, Hong Kong for South China and nearby regions, and the US West Coast for the North American West Coast. See the typical latency ranges on the locations page. Actual latency depends on your connection.
Which Mac cloud location is closest to my team in Asia?
For teams in South China or nearby regions, start with Hong Kong; choose Singapore if you also have team members in Southeast Asia. For teams in Japan or South Korea, choose Tokyo or Seoul. These are the only 5 locations available.
Can I rent a Mac for just one day?
Yes. Daily rates are $21.8 for UDP M4 16 and $40.9 for UDP M4 24. Billing starts once your payment succeeds, and you can renew in the console before your instance expires.
Are these virtual machines?
No. Each instance is a dedicated physical Mac mini, assigned to one customer with no shared CPU or memory.
